Your Learning Styles Revealed!

[[INSERT_HIDDEN_FIELDS]]

Here you go, [[Name]], based on your answers your scores added up to:

Auditory

[[Ascore]]
Visual

[[Vscore]]
Kinesthetic

[[Kscore]]
Auditory Digital

[[Dscore]]

Good to know, right? But what does it mean?

Well, your highest score indicates your dominant learning and communication style. So if your highest score is in the auditory row …

Auditory

If your highest score is in the Auditory row, that tells me that it'll probably help you to talk a subject out with me … so you can 'think outloud' as it were … and hear the ideas and incorporate what we're learning in your own language. And recapping what we're learning as we're going through it will also be helpful.

Visual

If your highest score is in the Visual row, that tells me that you like a slightly faster pace … and that it'll help you if I can paint a larger picture for you … give you an overview before showing you the details.

Kinesthetic

If your highest score is in the Kinesthetic row, (like me), it tells me that you're probably more interested in getting inside a the new idea … so you can see it, and hear it, and experience it from the inside out, rather than needing to spend a lot of time on the overview. It's likely the overview won't have as much meaning for you … until you've been able to get your hands on what we're talking about.

Auditory Digital

If your highest score is in the Auditory Digital row, it tells me that you like a logical, ordered, progressive approach to learning new things. You feel much more confident with new material when you can see a clear connection between the learning points … and can identify where we are in relation to the overall concept. You're also likely to need more than one invitation to speak up and share your questions or concerns.

How we work with this information …

It helps me know a little bit about how you prefer to learn … so I can make sure to include elements of your particular learning style in the way I interact with you … in a workshop, group or 1-1 environment.

The signature Kitchen Table Coaching style

My signature workshop and coaching style is a highly participatory, hands-on approach, that incorporates elements from all of the learning styles, but is specifically designed to engage kinesthetic learners. I've found that in doing so, visual learners get great value from seeing new ideas, auditory learners get great value from hearing themselves and others experience the new ideas, and auditory digital learners get to see the natural, progressive steps that spontaneously emerge when developing a new skill or incorporating a new concept.

Thus … great value is had by all!

How you can work with this information

Well, as you might have noticed, communication isn't always easy. Different people communicate with their own particular quirks and styles. And some people seem to 'get you' right away … and others, no matter how much you try to explain … never really do understand.

This frustrating, hit-or-miss mode of communicating can make you lose your patience, or give up on someone, when you can't see the logic in what they're saying (and how they're saying it).

But when you know your own learning and communication style … it can help you ask specifically for what you want and need in order to understand. When you know someone else's style … it can help you translate your message into language that resonates with them.

Value-based relationships

Knowing how to speak another persons' language is not only useful, it also helps establish your credibility, and build value-based interactions. And that's exactly what I'd like to do with you: connect with you … learn more about who you are, what you're doing now, and what your goals are … and share a little value … ideas, resources, and how-to information. And perhaps connect again in an ongoing way.

Sound good? If you'd like to talk about these ideas further, contact me or give me a call: 301-891-1147, and we'll set up a time to talk.
